Laragh Playground, WicklowPlay & Leisure Services were happy to supply and install this natural play area for Wicklow County Council. They had a budget of €50,000.00 and required a playground that was inviting, attractive and tactile whilst providing variety & amusement to a wide range of users. that integrates well into the immediate area.
The site itself was small, irregular and inaccessible. We solved this problem by adjusting the levels to ensure that all children and adults can access and enjoy the new playground. Equipment supplied includes a mixture of natural elements & traditional play equipment that will nurture and help develop children's physical skills whilst encouraging interactive & imaginative play. We supplied and installed Cushionfall safety surfacing, which technically is a loosefill surface but differs from the standard bark loose fill because it's made from seasoned, recycled soft wood fibres that knit together to form a stable, long-lasting surface, giving excellent absorption against impact and providing a firm consolidated surface that is suitable for wheelchairs & prams. |

Sallins Playground, KildareKildare County Council
Finally Sallins residents and children now have a fabulous, fit for purpose, community play area after years of issues regarding planning and funding. Thankfully we were able to overcome any planning issues with a bespoke design solution! The playground accommodates all children up to age 12. There 33 pieces of equipment for play. The design of the Play Area accommodates a wide range of individual preferences and abilities. A mix of play opportunities has been catered for, this mix caters for solo play, group/social interaction, balance, co-ordination, imaginative play, sensory play, agility & strength for all. The multi-play units provided offer multiple access & egress points of varying difficulty, differing deck heights & different heights of slides, allowing users to challenge themselves and choose a way to play that suits their individual needs. We have avoided strict segregation of age ranges inside the play area; this allows children to naturally identify where they’d like to play based on their interests regardless of age or ability, without feeling physically segregated from others. It also encourages users to utilise and explore the entire area and all of its features, assisting fitness, social interaction & discovery. We have successfully included design & play items that reflect the association with both the local canal and railway. Altogether this playground will be truly reflective of the local area, its history and associations, allowing users to learn, appreciate, connect with and, importantly feel part of the local community. |

Barbour Play Area, LisburnLisburn and Castlereagh City Council
This project was completed in October 2016 and was part of a larger tender, including 2 other sites. These projects were run simultaneously using all of our own resources. The tender required removal of an existing play equipment to be replaced with a high quality, vandal resistant and long lasting traditional play area. Firstly a large bespoke multiplay unit bursting with play value, suitable for all and providing a visual impact to the area decided on. The large HAGS Uniplay steel unit we chose includes a wheelchair transfer point, climbing walls, bridges, nets, below deck games, traditional slide and Banister Slides, with multiple access and egress points, ensuring all children are challenged and enthralled. Swings for both Toddlers and Juniors have been provided with our Delta ant-wrap bearings. And our newest swing seat the Tango will provide children and carers the chance to safely swing together, increasing social interaction. A dish roundabout and a multi-seat springer have also been provided to offer a range of play activities. Our bright, single coloured Saferfall wetpour provides the perfect surface for safe play whilst also remaining easily maintained. Brightly coloured thermoplastic surface markings have also been included to increase interest and educational play within the area. We hope the community enjoys this play area for many years to come! Caragh Road, NaasNaas Town Council
A cast in situ concrete skate park with street elements, designed for BMX, skates and Skate Boards has been installed along with a natural fenced play area to provide a space for the whole community to come together and use. The Skate park has been designed to fit with the existing contours of the site and includes street elements that have proved very popular with the local youth. A designated area for this age range is so important to ensure that teens have somewhere to focus their energy in a productive manner. The play area boasts challenging multiplay units along with traditional play items for all age ranges with a mixture of surfacing types. There is a central mound that features natural elements, interactive play panels and a mound tunnel. A selection of meandering low line trail items installed into sand provide another element to the adventure! We hope the locals continue to enjoy this park in the future! And teens...please remember your helmets! |

Pickie Park Play AreaNorth Down Borough Council
We are delighted to share the refurbishment we completed at Pickie Park in April 2015. It was a pleasure to work on an area that many of us have enjoyed ourselves over the years. It was important to us all to provide a quality installation and equipment that enhances the iconic location. The client wanted to replace many of the existing units with new marine themed play equipment and the wet pour safety surface also needed refurbishment. The large custom HAGS Uniplay Ship unit offers a large range of play value, offering something for everyone. Six different access points allow children of various confidence levels and abilities to access the Ship. Children can choose between the small slide or the more exhilarating Tube slide as egress points. Not only will this Unit be a major feature and add character and excitement it will provide a large amount of play value for the Senior age range.
The custom HAGS Unimini ship contains many different challenges for different abilities and confidence levels, it is packed with play value, with moving parts play panels at every turn at a low level, accessible to wheelchair users. We also installed a Mayflower Group Springer, which will provide hours of role play fun, 2 marine themed springers, Simmy the seal and the 4 Way Turtle Springer. A small role play unit for the toddler age range, the Unimini Port to spark the imagination of small children and encourage them to engage in role play. |
